I see on the internet others have the same types of issues with the last update. So I’m getting really fed up with the HDHomeRun company and trying to figure out how to go on with using them as little as possible if not shoot their thing in the trash one day. My drive works on everything else, just not the HDHomeRun. For days I tried to do anything and everything to figure it out, and the so called “Techs” on the HDHomeRun website are really terrible people and no help at all, they first wouldn’t even admit there was an update, then they blame my hard drive. If the hard drive is plugged in it will stop the HDHomeRun from working at all, it will say “tuner can’t be found”. Then now 4 months later, a few days ago the HomeRun had an update and it stopped it from being able to read my hard drive. I am using PLEX for my own movies and the ability to watch them and the HDHomeRun when I’m away from home, but I wanted to do the actual TV recording on a hard drive plugged directly into the HDHomeRun, so I was force to buy their Subscription. I thought their $35 a yr was just for the extended guide. My first misunderstanding was I thought I could record on a hard drive plugged into the HDHomeRun without paying them a subscription. I’m new to all this, I spent much time trying to figure out all the different ways to get TV and record it, and I thought I made the right pick with buying the HDHomeRun FLEX 4 tuner and then buy the PLEX PASS. I’ve canceled the HDHomeRun subscription from renewing in 8 months. Thank you so much for such a quick response and understanding what I was asking.
